SA Tree Planting

Willow Feather Farm

Alongside the UK woodland project, Tom's friends and colleagues in South Africa have raised funds for a tree planting initiative run by Willow Feather Farm in Gauteng Province. The farm's charitable wing plants indigenous trees in rural areas, with a focus on schools and community centres where trees are often lacking.

Thanks to a large number of generous donations from those whose lives Tom touched in SA, there were enough funds for two planting projects. The tree chosen is the indigenous Combretum Erythrophyllum, or River Bushwillow tree.

100 Trees Planted at Itumeleng Madiba School

The children of Itumeleng Madiba Primary School in Shoshanguve, Gauteng helped the team from Willow Feather with the planting of 100 trees at the school, which will provide some welcome shade and greenery for the school and the community for years to come.
