Planting at Itumeleng Madiba Primary School

Thanks to the funds raised for the SA planting project, the work of Tom's friends and DFID colleagues and the tree-growers at Willow Feather (and a helping hand from the school children themselves) 100 indigenous trees have been planted at Itumeleng Madiba Primary School in Shoshanguve, Gauteng.

The trees will offer some much needed shade and greenery to the school and the community for many years to come. The plaque installed at the planting reads:

'In loving memory of Tom Quick, UK Department for International Development (DFID) Pretoria 2014-2016’

So many funds were raised, that there was an additional planting of 153 trees at Rietvlei Nature Reserve - see those pictures here.
